Humpty Dumpty

This is a custom job I did this fall for a collector. I am very proud of him. He is made from a sock, recycled sweater and other scraps. She wanted him to be blue and beautiful. I think mr. Dumpty fits the bill.

Chickens! The market was all about chickens!
The striped guy up top won the art contest.

Hedgie

This is my first creature of 2013. I'm very proud of hedgie. He is made out of all recycled sweaters and stuffed with fabric scraps. Someone took hedgie home and I hope he's doing well.

Hello World!

Whoo! It's been maybe a year or more since Vidaliah Crafts has posted. Well, now with new fangled technology and a nicer camera we're cooking with gas. Let the posting commence!
New work now on show at Splash Gallery in Olympia. Art dolls made with sweaters and mohair.

Fertie the fox was the first to be sold.

Mohair is an interesting fabric to work with. A bit intimidating at times.

Rootluks

This springs newest creatures, Rootluks! They are a calmer more contemplative cousin to the Mandrake. Rootluks would rather talk about the social ramifications of the European debit crisis than screech you to stone. Though there might not be too much of a difference.

Dandy Lions

These Dandy Lions here are my newest in revesable pillows. On one side they are lions, on the other flowers, get it, dandy lions. Ha! I'm still working on the flowers, they are a bit abstract but these are big and soft and fun to nap with. They are made from recycled sweaters and clothes and I really like how all of the different patterns of cloth show up.

Polyethelyne Fiend

Here is the bloke who ate up most 2012's young moments and many of  2011's aging ones.  This is my big plastic dragon, officially titled Polyethelyne Fiend. Fellow artist Bil Fleming and I collaborated on this big beastie for the Splash Gallery Show this Feb. at the Washington Preforming Arts Center in Olympia, WA. The opening was great and our fiend is still up there. I think it might be up till April, but I'm not so sure. Below is a link to a lovely story written in the local paper.
