Hey, I made this fabric. And you can too.
These are my first (and slightly wrinkled) fabric samples from Spoonflower. Spoonflower is a site where you can design and make your own fabrics. They have several types to choose from, including two types of organic cotton fabric. These were my first tries and were super fun. You should give it a go, www.spoonflower.com. Check out the link to the left.

Tomato Pincushions
What do I do with all of the little bits of fabric and fur I save from my creatures? Well, I make fun little pincushions! These are made from larger scraps and filled with the small scraps. I add the brick-brack so it can hang as an ornament if you would like.

Thank you all of the great classes
Thank you every one who came to the nest and creature making classes at Oly Frame over the past two weeks. They we fun and huge learning experiences for me. I will soon post picture of the creatures class but in the mean time here is Badger! Badger is a get better Badger. This fuzzy made from recycled sweaters is living with my friend who got in a horrible accident with his bike. Badger is a good neck and hand propping size. I've been meaning to make my friend a Badger for some time and this seemed like a good, although sad, one.

Nest and Creature Classes!!!
To clarify, each class is only one time frame. For example, the whole nest class is taught from 2-4. There are three times offered, it is not a three session class.

May Brain Freeze!
Hopefully this friend will help thaw out my captive brain meats. It's been a while since I last posted. It's been a flurry of small radish hats, nests and class set up. Please stay tuned for an announcement for classes in Olympia. Super fun and super exciting!

Thanks for the Great Arts Walk
The Sweaterbear and I would like to thank all of those who came out to Olympia's Spring Arts Walk this past weekend. It was lovely to see all of the smiling faces and hear words of encouragement. I had a wonderful time and hope you did too. It was a beautiful weekend and a good show.

Spring Nests
These nests are made out of recycled scraps of cloth and clothes. There are bits of lace and ribbon, plastic bags, bells, beads and stones in them. The little birds are made and stuffed with scrap fabric. I like to call them wish nests. I have one where I put old fortune cookies and little pieces of paper with my hopes and dreams so they can incubate and come true.
